Outings

Our outdoor program varies from month-to-month depending on what the scouts decide to do.  They select their outdoor activities, and the leaders schedule them, from 4 to 8 months in advance so families can plan their calendars as much as possible.  The scouts plan their own menus, duty rosters, and equipment needs starting about 3 weeks before each outing, with oversight and guidance from the Scoutmasters.
The activities are varied between "car camping" and backpacking to provide variety and challenges to all of the scouts.  We work closely with new and younger scouts and their families to help them know how to safely and confidently go into the outdoors and truly enjoy it.  Learning these skills in the company of peers and friends is the best part of Scouting!
