Haunted Forest at Maple Valley
FUNDRAISER OPPORTUNITY
FUNDRAISER OPPORTUNITY
About the Fundraiser:
The Haunted Forest of Maple Valley donates all proceeds of their annual event back to the volunteers who run the event. Funds are disbursed according to how many hours a given volunteer donates to the event. So, the more time you or your scout volunteers, the more they would send to the troop!
Register with the Haunted Forest here to volunteer (Indicate "Friends of Kirkland Scouting" as your group name.) See Haunted Forest website for more information.
Event support ranges from pre-season build (set building in September) and advertisement (marching in summer parades) to operations for the Haunted House (Fridays and Saturdays in October: volunteers and actors would need to show up at around 4pm, and may need to stay until midnight or later.)
This is a volunteer opportunity for any scouts aged 12+: Scouts aged 12-15 must be accompanied by an adult. (Adults can also volunteer and donate their volunteer hours to the troop!)
Actors in the actual haunted house would need to attend a Ghoul School session to get trained for acting, safety, make-up, costuming, and other ins and outs of the event. Dates tba.
Fill out this form if you are interested in volunteering with Haunted Forest: the Troop will keep you apprised of future announced dates for volunteering, and we'll connect you with other scouts and families that are also interested. (Carpooling? Possible.)
