August 30: Iron Chef Cookoff/Frisbee Golf
On Sunday, August 30 at Blyth Park we will be having our annual Iron Chef Cook-Off and Frisbee Golf! We'll begin Frisbee Golf at 12:30 PM, where Scouts can complete the Golf Merit Badge in its entirety, before shifting to the cook-off and hotdog feast around 3:00 PM.
Charlotte has been hard at work organizing this year's cook-off, selecting the ingredients, and preparing the secret ingredient, which will be revealed at the event. Patrols will work together to create a dish using the provided ingredients, with the judges deciding which patrol earns this year's bragging rights. Will the Greedy Axolotls become back-to-back champions?
We'll have extra discs from past years available to borrow for anyone participating in Frisbee Golf, though you're welcome to bring your own. Please bring a water bottle & sunscreen for golfing, and a potluck side dish for when we wait for our chefs. As always hot dogs will also be available for everyone too.
September 26 or 27: Food Bank Farm Service Project
More details coming soon!
TBD: Rock Hounding
TBD: Corn Maze
The Packwood Lake Trail is a moderately difficult and mostly flat trail that is 5 miles each way, making it a 10 mile round trip.
This is a good hike for anyone who has had some experience backpacking or hiking with the troop.
Looking for a fun night with friends and a niche place to sleep? Sign up for our overnight trip to the Blue Fox Drive-in Movie Theater!
Blue Fox is located on Whidbey (about 2 hours away), with the event starting on Friday, September 18th. This would mean leaving as soon as possible after school with hopes of getting a good spot at the theater - our exact departure time will be released closer to the event.
The event ends around 10:30 on Saturday (9/19), so you can expect to be home around mid-day
This is part of the official Scout Night at Blue Fox, which is organized by Mount Baker Council, though scouts from other councils (like us) are more than welcome to attend.
Registration for the event is $30 per person and covers your ticket as well as breakfast and dinner, though more food can always be purchased from concessions if you desire.
